Representing. Col. 3:16-17
"Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom He gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father." Col. 3:16-17/NLT
Everyday as we live our lives, we have the great opportunity to do so as "a representative of the Lord Jesus". And as a representative, we bear the name of Jesus Christ.
Χριστοφορος= (Christophoros) means "bearing CHRIST". Early Christians used this terminology to express that they carried Jesus in their hearts. Are you carrying Christ in your heart wherever you go? Are you representing Jesus at work, home, school, with family, friends, and neighbors?
Remember today that you are representing Christ. Whether you need to encourage your children, love your wife, respect your husband, or you are just sitting alone in a tiny cubicle working on your computer, do all of it as a representative of Jesus. You bear His name!
